School days, school days. Remember the days of the twirlers leading the band on the field and in parades? This photo is of the 1959 Friona baton squad, l-r, Pam Roden Baker, Mary Jane Grubbs Clements, Nancy Outland Roden, Sue Baxter, and Lavon Fleming Reeve. Nancy Roden says she remembers the band marching from downtown Amarillo all the way to the fairgrounds during the Amarillo Fair parade. We are celebrating the Friona Schools 100th birthday in 2008.
