Hannah Lookingbill

Hannah Carr Lookingbill, 93, of Friona died Sunday, March 10, 2013 in Amarillo. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the Friona Cemetery with family friend, Chaplain James Clinkscales of Keller, Texas, officiating. Burial is in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Hannah was born May 29, 1919, in Wylie, Texas to Joe Frank and Bobbie Era (Allen) Brown. She grew up and lived in Hillsboro, Texas. She married Harry Lookingbill and moved to Friona March 2, 1970, where she has lived for 43 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Black Study Club. She loved her family, friends, and antiques.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Kathye Chandler of Lufkin, Texas, and a brother, Ernest Brown of Belton, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Carr, Rick Carr and wife Sherry, all of Friona; one daughter, Gena Beth Rogers and husband Don of Burleson, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and two very special caregivers, Tina Carrillo and Molly Casarez of Friona.

Ivel Wade Wright

Ivel Wade Wright, 78, died peacefully at his home in Friona Monday, March 11, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Friona United Methodist Church with Reverend Kurt Borden, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Friona Cemetery. Arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Family visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home.

Wade Wright was born October 16, 1934, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Dr. Benjamin Wade and Ona (Redwine) Wright. He married Amelia Serbanich of Garland, Texas on June 30, 1961. He graduated from Woodhouse High School in Palestine, Texas and from East Texas State College in Commerce, Texas. After college he spent four years in the Air Force.

Wade spent most of his adult life loaning money to farmers and ranchers through Plainview Production Credit Association. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was very well respected in the community. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and playing pool and poker. He was a member of the Friona Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ben F. Wright, and a son, Carl Dwain Wright.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Amelia Wright of Friona; one son, Gary Wright and wife Karen of Lubbock; two daughters, Beverly Ingram and husband John of Friona, and Karla Garcia and husband Al of Lakeway, Texas; one sister, Molly Neuberger of Shenandoah, Texas; nine grandchildren, Shantell Newman and husband Ryan, Morgan Lapel, Kahlie Callison and husband Adam, Maegan Garner and husband Mason, Ashley Ingram, Garrett Wright, Jordan Wright and wife Alisha, Rachel Mayne, and Rebekah Mayne; three great-grandchildren, Aubree Garner, Aiden Callison, and Amelia Jo Wright.

Thomas Everett Parson, Jr.

Thomas Everett Parson Jr., 92, of Friona, Texas, died Friday March 8, 2013 in Friona. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church in Friona with Reverend Rick burton and Reverend Ellis Parson officiating. Burial followed in the Rhea Cemetery in the Rhea Community with arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Thomas Everett Parson, Jr. was born October 7, 1920 in Brown County, Texas to Thomas Everett Parson, Sr. and Mattie Green Parson. He married Chloe Ruth Parson on July 17, 1939 in Seminole, Texas. She preceded him in death. He loved camping with his children. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors are: four sons, T.E. Parson and wife Virginia of Tomball, Texas, Ellis Parson and wife Mildred of Summerfield, Texas, Neal Parson and wife Kay of Canyon, Texas, and Albert Parson and wife Carmen of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Elaine Ware and husband Darrell of Lindsey, Oklahoma, Dora Parson of Friona, Alice Willey of Lubbock, and Nancy McCullock of Las Vegas, New Mexico; many foster children, 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Willene Grundy

Willene Grundy, 67, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Bethany, OK. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethany.

Willene was born June 18, 1945 in Friona, to Oscar W. and Opal J. (Libby) Baxter. She graduated from Friona High School in 1963. On November 22, 1964, she married Stephen A. Grundy in Friona.

She loved people and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Stephen; son, Tim and wife Elizabeth of Oklahoma City; daughter, Sharon Adcox and husband Donnie of Piedmont, OK; brother, John Baxter and wife Sherry of Friona; two sisters, Gladys Young of Hobbs, NM and Caroline Foster and husband Terry of Blanchard, OK; brother-in-law, Glenn Grundy and wife Virginia of Deerfield Beach, FL; grandchildren, Caitlin, Hannah and Cole Grundy, all of Oklahoma City, Daniel Adcox and wife Kayla of Webber City, VA, Tegan Adcox, Edmond and Ethan of Piedmont, OK and great-grandsons, Clayton and Aden Palmer. Willene was a member of 50th Street Church of Christ.

Paula Sue Daniel

Paula Sue Daniel, 70, of Lazbuddie, Texas, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at lazbuddie Church of Christ in Lazbuddie, Texas. Burial followed in Lazbuddie Cemetery. Arrangements were by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home in Friona, Texas.

Paula Sue Moore was born July 31, 1942 in Hereford, Texas to Carlton Faulkner Moore and Bess Blair Houston Moore. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1961 then attended Eastern New Mexico University and Texas Tech University. She married Jim Roy Daniel on August 14, 1964 in Hereford. After their marriage she moved to Lazbuddie and raised their two children. She was active in attending all her children’s functions and was a friend to everyone in her community. She was active in the Lazbuddie Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carlton E. Moore.

She is survived by her husband Jim Roy Daniel of Lazbuddie; one son, Todd Daniel of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Amy Marshall of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Charlotte Beasley of Euless, Texas and Joan Clark of Vallejo, California; a sister-in-law, Dolores Moore of Littlefield, Texas; and ficve grandchildren.

Floyd Reeve

Floyd Scott Reeve, 69, of Friona passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Dallas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Friona at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kurt Borden and Rev. Brett Hoyle officiating. Burial followed in Friona Cemetery with arrangements by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Floyd was born in Belleville, Illinois to Hadley and Fay Reeve on September 9, 1943. When he was three months old his family moved to Friona where his three siblings were later born.

He attended Friona schools and graduated in 1962. He was active in football, FFA, president of the student council, and Mr. FHS. He was active in the youth group of the First Methodist Church. Later he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served as president of the administration board, and served as Sunday School president.

He attended West Texas State University and graduated with a business degree in 1966. He married Betty Drake in 1965. After graduation they moved back to Friona where Floyd became a farmer and rancher.

Floyd loved the community of Friona and was very involved in both his church and civic affairs. He was Friona ISD Board of Trustees president for 10 years, and served on the Parmer County Farm Bureau Board, Water Board, Friona Chamber ov Commerce, Parmer County Appraisal District board, Republican Chairman for Parmer County, Deaf Smith Electric Co-Op board, Scandia Wind board, Friona Masonic Lodge, Paco Feedyard Board of Directors, and in 1989 was voted Friona’s Man of the Year.

He is survived by his wife Betty; three daughters, Debbie Lascelles and her husband Chris of Lindale and their children Haley and Kip, Denae McLellan and her husband Johnny of Shallowater and their children Landon, Macy, and Averi, and Becky Reeve of Friona; two sisters, Sharon White and her husband Teddy of Friona and Carol Perry and her husband Bob of Lubbock; one brother, Dr. David Reeve and his wife Julie of Weatherford; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
