Empty Stocking Fund serves needy children for Christmas
Thanks to the local United Way the Empty Stocking Fund is able to help children in our community that otherwise would not have Christmas. Last year around 50 children were served by the Empty Stocking Fund. The fund volunteers purchase coats, pants, tops, underwear, and shoes for needy children. They also include at least one toy of some kind but clothing is the primary focus. The needy children recipients are selected by teachers.
Additional donations to the Empty Stocking Fund are needed as the number of children served is expected to increase this year. Donations can be given to Peggy Monroe or deposited to the Empty Stocking Fund at Friona State Bank. Your generosity will be appreciated.
