Eva Lou Rector

Eva Lou Jones Rector, 90 of Denton, formerly of Friona passed away April 9, 2020 in Denton. There will be no services. Cremation and Friona Cemetery burial arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Eva Lou was born June 29, 1929 in Friona to O.C. and Ruth Roberson Jones. She grew up and attended Friona schools, graduating from Friona High School in 1947. She then attended Draughns Business School in Lubbock. She was then asked by the late Charles Allen to work for the Friona State Bank as a bookkeeper. She later worked for Zola Cranfil Tax Service..

Eva Lou married Floyd L. Rector on June 16, 1948 in the United Congregational Church that now houses The Parmer County Pioneer Heritage Museum. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and was active in WSCS, as well as being a Sunday school teacher of small children. Eva was a Brownie leader and a Girl Scout leader. The Rectors lovingly adopted two children, Gary in October 1957 and Donna in September 1960..

After her children were older, she worked with the late Opal Baxter at the Friona Ford Company. They later moved to Lubbock and then to Denton. .

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Thomas Jones and a daughter-in-law-Robin Rector. .

Those to carry on her legacy include her husband Floyd of Denton, 1 son-Gary Rector of Little Elm, Texas, 1 daughter-Donna Rector of Rhome, Texas, 1 granddaughter-Lauri Ragland and husband Jeff of Flower Mound, Texas, 1 grandson-Jonathan Rector and wife Stephanie of Highland Village, Texas, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 sister-in-law- Clara Trowbridge of Amarillo. .
