Joe Albert Mendoza

Joe Albert Mendoza, passed away at age 62 on November 9, 2022. He was born February 19, 1960, in Levelland, Texas. With great sorrow and heavy hearts, we laid to rest our beloved Alberto-Avi-"Biker". A celebration of life will be held to honor his Memory and Military Service. As an Army Infantryman, 11B, he completed his tour of duty in Germany from 1978 to 1981. Upon his return from overseas he never lost his passion for adventure, celebrations, and endless laughter. For all who loved him he made certain to let them know, his favorite words "I love you with All my Heart." Those to mourn his passing include his wife Juanita, his son Rocky Mendoza and daughter Jessica Marie Quintana and all his grandchildren. His father and mother Joe & Esther Mendoza his three sisters Yolanda & Mauricio Martinez, Frances & Duane Hurwitz , Elizabeth & David Romero his three brothers Jesse & Gina Mendoza, Eddie Mendoza, Gilbert & Michelle Mendoza and an abundance of nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.

Leonardo Alvarado

Leonardo Alvarado, Sr. 79 of Friona passed away November 8, 2022 in Friona. Viewing was held Friday, November 11, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY. Please use the East chapel entrance. Celebration of Life Services were scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Friona with Rev. Brett Hoyle, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Leonardo was born April 25, 1943 in Menard, Texas to Domingo and Enriqueta Perez Alvarado. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 serving in Vietnam. He then married Angelita Martinez April 15, 1967 in Eden, Texas.

Leonardo was a proficient carpenter and was a carpenter superintendent for Missouri Valley Construction and a very hard worker. But, he also loved practical jokes, spending time with family, hunting, and fishing and helping others. He is known to his family as "The Best That's Ever Been."

He is preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Enriqueta.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Angelita of Friona, 2 sons-Leonardo Alvarado, Jr. And wife Cynthia of Stella, North Carolina, and Jacob Alvarado and partner Tate of Clovis, 3 daughters-Pamela Mercado and husband Leroy of Friona, Sandra Padilla and husband Anthony Sr. of Friona, and Jessica Bullock and husband Decaris of Mebane, North Carolina, 2 brothers Domingo Alvarado, Jr. and wife Mary of Friona, and Richard Alvarado and wife Evelia of Menard, 4 sisters- Lesvia Aguire and husband Paul of Hereford, Irene Bermea of Del Rio, Hortencia Salas and husband Joe of Amarillo, and Romelia Hernandez and husband Roland of Austin, 8 grandchildren-Monica Madrid, Denise Padilla, Austin Mercado, Briana Padilla, Caleb Alvarado, Anthony Padilla, Jr., Leilani Escobedo and Mikah Escobedo, 4 great-grandchildren- Jeriah Dominguez, Addily "Tippy Toe" Dominguez, Ryker Mercado and Jeriah Lopez.

Celeste Olvera

Celeste Olvera, 64 of Bovina passed away November 8, 2022 in Amarillo. Viewing was held Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with Rosary Services set for 6:00 PM at the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 10:00 AM Friday November 11, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Gregory Bunyan and Deacon Michael Anzaldua of Dalhart as Celebrants. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Celeste was born August 8, 1958 in Belen, New Mexico to Juan and Adela Zamora Florez. She later married Jose "Joe" Olvera June 9, 1979 in Texico, New Mexico.

Celeste was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and family. She loved to teach children and taught in St. Ann's Catholic Church where she was very active in helping teach children in the CCD program. She homeschooled her own children for many years as well. After her children became adults, she was an aide at the assisted living center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Joe.

Those to mourn her passing include her 3 sons-Joseph Olvera and wife Sabrina of Bovina, Mike Olvera and wife Elida of Dalhart, and Jason Olvera and wife Janey of Bovina, 1 brother- Johnny Florez and wife Delia of Lubbock, 4 sisters-Nickie Villarreal and husband George of Bovina, Josie Gonzales and husband Jimmy of Lubbock, Anna Martinez and husband Marty of Clovis, Bernadette Askew and Mark Shore of Lubbock, Aunt- Precilla Soccio of Farwell, 8 grandchildren-Matthew, Sophia, Edgar and wife Olivia, Jacob, Natalie, Miranda, Noah, and Asuna and 1 great-grandchild-Kamila Robinson.

Joe Francis Reeve

Joe Francis Reeve, 79 of Friona passed away November 8, 2022. Viewing was held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2022 at HANSARD FAMILY. Please use the front entrance. Celebration of Life Services was 2:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Union Congregational Church in Friona with Jeff Procter, minister, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Joe was born November 14, 1942, in Friona, Texas, to Glenn, Sr. and Allo Sparkman Reeve. After Joe graduated from high school, he joined his father and brother in the Reeve Chevrolet-Olds business as the service manager, a position he held until the business was sold in the mid-1980's. Joe opened his own garage in Friona where he was born and lived all of his life.

Joe was a quiet soul who did not talk much, but he would give you the shirt off his back and would always help a friend or stranger in need. He was a "mechanic extraordinaire", answering any and all questions from kids and grandkids as well as having an innate ability to fix just about anything. He could "hear" or "smell" a vehicle running and tell you what was wrong with it.

Joe's children are all thankful that both of their parents continued to mutually support them throughout their adult lives.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to carry on his legacy include his three children with Wanda Nell Ready: Joe Kyle Reeve and wife Sarita of Pampa; Mitchell Reeve and wife Jan of Vega; Trudy Banner and husband Phil of Amarillo; and his wife Margie Bridges and her children, Elizabeth Wren and husband Michael of Longview, Texas, and Justin Bridges of Friona. He is also survived by his three brothers, Glenn Evan Reeve, Jr. and wife Carolin of Friona; Don Reeve and wife Lavon of Graham, Texas: and Max Reeve of Graham, Texas; as well as 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Joe Francis Reeve.
