Juana Castillo

Juana Castillo, 76 of Dalhart, formerly of Bovina/Friona passed away March 23, 2022 in Midland. Viewing was held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY. Cremation and arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Juana was born July 21, 1945 in Durango, Mexico to Isidro and Maria De La Luz Alamos Castillo. She was known as a very independent, simple, hard-working person that was blunt and to the point. She loved her family and was a great caregiver and cook. She loved her fried chicken, M & M's, and donuts.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband-Pedro Castillo Estrada, 2 daughters, 1 son, 3 brothers and 1 sister

Those to carry on her legacy include 3 daughters-Martha Castillo and Patsy Castillo of Friona, and Julia Silva Castillo of Dalhart, 2 sons-Pedro Castillo of Midland, and Jesus Castillo of Mexico, 3 sisters-Martha Zamora, Cristina Castillo, and Carmen Castillo, all of Mexico, 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Roger Harrison Gee

Roger Harrison Gee, 79 of Friona victoriously stepped into eternity on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Cremation and arrangements by HANASARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Roger was born in Clovis, NM on February 4, 1943, to Harrison Franklin and Irma Irene Floyd Gee.

Roger was a lifelong resident of Friona, graduating from Friona High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1962. He dabbled in several careers including farming, and spraying crops among other things. He attended Trinidad State Junior College and completed a two-year program to become a gunsmith. He was quite the craftsman as a gunsmith. It was a love that would span over 20 years. Roger was also active in the NRA and enjoyed hunting.

Growing up with a progressive disease had its challenges, but you would not know it from Roger. He faced life fiercely independent with courage and great resolve to live life. His ability to overcome obstacles was inspirational and humbling. He was not into pity, just opportunity.

He was a longtime member of the 6th St. Church of Christ. His faith in Christ was evidenced by his kindness, patience, and dedication. His Bible did not gather dust, but he read it daily.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Irene, 2 brothers Everret Gee and James Gee and one sister Stacy Gee Coleman.

He is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and his family at 6th St. Church of Christ and many friends.
