Frances Elizabeth Totty Willard McNerlin

Frances Elizabeth Totty Willard McNerlin 87 of Denton, formerly of Parmer County went to meet her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2022. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Bovina United Methodist Church 204 4th St. in Bovina. All arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Frances was born on November 16, 1934 in Wheeler, Texas to Frank and Alice Winkley Totty. She grew up on the family farm in nearby Mobeetie. Frances married Vernon C. Willard on November 21, 1953. They made their home in the Oklahoma Lane and Bovina communities where they farmed and raised their family. Frances held degrees from West Texas A&M University and taught school in Bovina and Clovis, NM for thirty years; she later called Nocona and then Denton home.

Frances loved the Lord, her community, her friends, her students, and her family. She loved giving her time and talent, and she very faithfully and subtly ministered to everyone she met. Frances was a standout basketball player in Mobeetie High School and on the Dal's Dolls AAU team. She played thousands of hours of bridge and was always up for any game or activity with friends and family. Frances has spent countless hours on the back of a motorcycle, on snowmobiles, in a boat, on skis, SCUBA diving, flying airplanes, traveling the earth, and professing her unconditional love to her friends and family.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, her parents, brother Marion, and more recently her husband Don McNerlin.

Frances is survived by children Terri & Alton McCormick of Amarillo, Dennis and MJ Willard of Texico, Karl & Beverly Willard of Lantana; nine grandchildren Chris & Melinda McCormick of Houston, Amy & Jeromy Sellmyer of Amarillo, Amberly & Ryan Strebeck of Sweetwater, Joshua & Mitzi Willard of White Rock, NM, Jeremy Willard and Kate Fogarty of Santa Fe, Taylor Willard of Flower Mound, Zachary Willard of Lewisville, Bryce Willard of Lake Dallas, Mitchell Willard of Denton; stepson Brit and Debbie McNerlin and sons Josh and Michael. She was also MeeMaw to 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Kidney Foundation, the Bovina United Methodist Church in Bovina or the Nacona Carpenter's Shop in her name.
