Linda (Crow) Lancaster

Linda (Crow) Lancaster went to be with her savior and family on July 12, 2022. After a brief, but second bout with cancer and the ravaging effects of Multiple Sclerosis for 51 years, she was called home.

Linda Crow was born December 11, 1944, as the youngest of 5 siblings to Clifford and Madge Crow of Friona, Texas. She was mostly raised and attended schools in Friona.

Linda married at a young age, later moving to Lubbock to raise her family. After surviving her first bout with cancer, she met and later married Robert (Bob) Lancaster on July 3, 1969. Hardly a year afterwards she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Being the fighter she was, Linda was a spokeswoman at several events, detailing the everyday struggles and conquering of MS symptoms.

They later moved to Midland in1978. With the MS in remission, Linda studied and received her GED degree and several semesters of college classes in accounting. This led to the opportunity for her to work part-time in several offices. With job advancement calling Bob, they moved to Round Rock, and then moved back to Midland in 1993 where they enjoyed their retirement with family and friends until July 12, 2015, when Bob suddenly passed away.

To be next to her daughter, Linda moved to assisted living in Round Rock. In her own words, Linda delighted in being "fat, happy, and lazy" for almost 7 years.

Those immediate family members who preceded her in death: Parents, Clifford and Madge Crow; Brother, Clifford Gary Crow; husband, Bob Lancaster; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Norwood.

For those of us who continue the memory of Linda as the wonderful dancer, with a radiant smile, and sometimes direct comments, are: Sisters, Nancy Norwood and Barbara Barnett (Husband, Gerald); Brother, Larry Crow (Life partner, Betsy Walker); Daughter, Lesa Craig (husband, Tim); son, Tim Jones (wife, Marilyn); grandchildren, Rachel Kumar (husband, Praveen) and Chris Pitt; great grandchildren, Michael and LaurieAnn Pitt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Linda wished to be cremated, with hers and Bob's ashes to be placed and dispersed together in a place dear to their hearts. A loving memorial celebration will be held later with the surviving family.
