Emma Schueler and the Friona Squaws are preparing to serve up another exciting year of volleyball action. This will be Emma's fourth year to play at the varsity level. An alumni scrimmage is scheduled for Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in the FHS gym. You can find the season schedule on here.

Rain — the Friona area received much needed rain last Friday night and early Saturday morning. Most areas received around 2 inches of rain and it was the largest rain total since the 1.5" received on July 5, 2021.

Power — The city lost power somewhere around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning. A light pole caught on fire for unknown reasons and in the process of stopping power to the pole the substation went offline and the lights went out. Power was restored about 30-45 minutes later.

Prairie/Legacy News — Linda Baird is the Prairie Acres Resident of the Month for August. The Employee of the Month for August is Kiesha Aragon who works in the Housekeeping Department and has been on staff since September of 2021. Friday is National Underwear day — Remember the old warning "Make sure to always wear clean underwear. You never know when you will be in an accident!" Some people write the day of the week on their underwear to remind them when to wash clothes. Watch out for people who own exactly twelve pair of underwear.
