Created With Purpose of West Texas held its 4th Annual Fundraising Banquet Tuesday evening at the XIT Center in Bovina. In the photo (l-r) Susan Keeny, Alison Centofante, Annette Frye, Becky Biter, and Annie Williams. Susan and Becky were special guests from Pennsylvania, Alison was the keynote speaker, Annette is the Executive Director and Annie is the President of the Board of Directors of Created With Purpose.

A-1 Service Center celebrated its one year anniversary on October 4th with a Driver/Customer Appreciation Day. Premier Truck Group of Amarillo cooked the free hamburgers and hot dogs. A-1 wanted to say thank you to all its customers for making their first year a great one. In the photo - Suzanne & Tracy Bunker, Gerald Gonzalez, Edgar Guerrero. On Saturday, Head Volleyball Coach Bryan Masse was joined by current and former players to celebrate his coaching milestones. He recently passed the 300 win mark at Friona and also the 600 career win mark. Coach Masse is the all-time winningest coach in Friona sports history. Congratulations Coach Masse!!!

Save the Date - The band booster pulled pork fundraiser will held on Friday, October 20 at the concession stand. They will serve from 5:00 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $10.00 per plate and includes a sandwich, chips, water, pickles, onions, BBQ sauce, and a peppermint patty mint.

Grand Slam - Congratulations to Yvonne Legarreta who won her fourth District Cross Country Championship in four years at Friona High School. Yvonne was recently selected as the Player of the Week at presspasssports.com

Pink Out Pep Rally - On Friday, October 20th, FHS would like to honor Breast Cancer Survivors and Fighters during the pep rally. Please email Ms. Roque at mroque@frionaisd.com if you would like to participate. The pep rally will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Get Ready - This year's Trunk or Treat event is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st in the Prairie Acres parking lot located at 201 E. 15th St. in Friona.

Band on the March - The Mighty Chieftain Marching Band will be at contest this Saturday, October 14th at Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo. The band is scheduled to perform around 4:45 p.m. Go Band!!!
