Cleo M. McFall, age 87, was called to her eternal resting place on October 19, 2023. Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM MST, Friday, October 27, 2023 in the Melrose Cemetery in Melrose, New Mexico with Pastor Brad Morgan, and Wesley McAfee, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Chris Kerby, Rodney Rector, Tyrell Gonser, Kaegan Kerby, Jadyn and Kyle Gonser with Honorary Casket Bearers Wyatt White, William J. Kerby, Johnathan Gonser, Kadyn Kerby. Cleo entered this world on March 8, 1936 in Gould, Oklahoma, born to John Realan and Polly Toler Owen.
She resided in Portales, NM where she grew up in her early years. Her family relocated to Springer, NM and she retired many years later in Melrose, NM. She was a Councilwoman in Melrose, NM for several years and a grade school teacher in Datil, NM and Springer, NM. Cleo loved her students and enjoyed meeting them years later as adults. She was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and active in her church and volunteered her time at the Senior Centers. She loved ceramic pottery, painting and dancing.
She was blessed with 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, and was an exceptional mother, sister, grand parent, teacher, aunt, cousin, friend, and most of all an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed; however, her teachings will always endure.
Cleo was preceded in death by her father and mother John Realan and Polly Owen, brother John Realan Owen Jr. Wilson, sister Sylvia (Bobbie) McCrahan, son William A. Kerby, grandson Charles L. Pancrazio, son-in-law LC Gonser, son-in-law James Pancrazio.
She is survived by her brother Ira (Buster) Owen, sister Wilma High, daughters Donna (Tom) Avritt of Elida, NM, Myra Pancrazio of Edgewood, NM, Karen Gonser of Clovis, NM, son Robert (Amy) Kerby of Friona, TX; grandchildren, Kim (Chad) Noland, Chris (Desiree) Kerby, Rodney (Suzanne) Pancrazio Rector, Leanna (Mike) Summers, Tyrell (Gina) Gonser, Brittany (Chris) Daniels, Kami Kerby, Kaegan A. Kerby. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
