Friona Public Library announces the 2023 Summer Reading Program

The Friona Public Library has some exciting things planned for you. All Together Now" is the theme for the 2023 national collaborative summer reading library program this year. We have been buying new books all year so that you will have something to read this summer. We hope you have enjoyed reading from your school libraries.

You can help "All Together Now" by reading all kinds of books and becoming a better reader at the same time. All summer reading program participants will receive book bags, bookmarks and reading logs. We also have incentive bonuses as you read.

Registration for summer reading will begin May 29 at The Friona Public Library.

In order to make the best of your summer reading time, try to challenge yourself by reading a little bit every day. You will be amazed at the things you can learn! The bonuses this year include your reading certificate along with a reading necklace brag tag (to begin your collection) at 5 books, Genie sand at 10 books, a keychain popper toy at 15 books, and twisted putty slime if you read a total of 20 books. Keep reading and see how many books you can read during the whole summer.

Any child that reads 20 books by June 30th will be given a free admission ticket to the City of Friona Swimming Pool. Location: City Of Friona Swimming Pool (Ticket can be used once throughout the summer)

Friends of the Library will be sponsoring our programs again this year (the calendar is shown below) so do not miss any of them.

We will have a total of 4 programs. The programs will be on Wednesday mornings. You will also have a chance to win door prizes at the programs!

Registration will start May 29th, but you may register any time after to be part of this year's program. We hope to see you throughout this summer. Bring a friend, a cousin, a parent or a grandparent; we have books for them too! Share your reading with others!
