Mary Ann Cornelius

Mary Ann Cornelius 87 of Lamesa, Texas was called home on July 23, 2023. A family service is scheduled for a later date. Cremation by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona, Texas.

Mary Ann was born December 23, 1935 to Henry and Marie Hunt, she was raised on the family farm in Lamesa, Texas. Mary Ann attended Abilene Christian University where she earned her teaching degree. She then moved to New Mexico where she worked for the Las Cruces Public Schools as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. In 2019, Mary Ann moved back to Lamesa, Texas, her childhood home and lived there until her passing.

She is survived by her brother Chris Hunt, her daughter Melissa Butzbach, 2 grandchildren, 1 great- grandson, 1 niece, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces,4 great nephews and 6 great-great nieces. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law.

Juan Ramon Trevino

Juan Ramon Trevino, 76 of Friona passed away August 7, 2023 in Amarillo. Viewing will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Conexiones Divinas Church in Friona with a Prayer and Memories Services beginning at 6:30PM. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Friona with Rev. Rudy Trevino and Pastor Aurelio Silva, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Juan was born in Villaldama, Nuevo León, Mexico to Jose Luis and Esperanza Gonzales Trevino. He later married Irene Salazar October 17, 1964 in Estación Villaldama, Nuevo León, Mexico. They moved to the United States in 1966 and he began farming. In the 1970's he started a welding business as well as continuing his talent of music. For many years he fronted his band Los Gavilanes de Juan Trevino. Towards the end of his life he cared for and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also his goats, horses, cattle and dogs. This love for family and animals gave him great enjoyment. The legacy of hard work and a love for music that he left and instilled in his children and grandchildren will keep his memory alive for generations to come.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter-Dalia Verlod, 1 grandchild-Ashley Chico, and 6 siblings.

Those to carry on his legacy include his children- Johnny Trevino and wife Silvia of Friona, Joe Trevino and wife Olivia of Uvalde, Delia Trevino and Juan Aguilar, Javier Trevino and wife Nina, all of Amarillo, grandchildren-Jonathan Trevino, Johnny Trevino, Cindy Moreno, Karina Ojeda, Kenya Reyes, Christiana Hauserman, Jesse Hauserman, Mayra Garcia, Carlos Trevino, Eric Trevino, Joerden Trevino, Juan Chico, Andrew Chico, Ruben Chico, Leslie Casas, Gabriel Chico, Sergio Chico, Harvey Chico, Michael Chico, Anjelica Dominguez, Crystal Trevino, Javier Trevino, PJ Trevino, 43 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, siblings-Jose Luis Trevino of Friona, Rudy Trevino of San Antonio, Jesse Trevino of Clovis, Frankie Trevino of Amarillo, Bennie Trevino of Belton, Bernie Trevino of Austin, Esperanza Herrera of Friona, Petra Ramirez of Friona, Tomasita Reyes of Midland, Armandina Trevino of Amarillo, Alice Portillo of Amarillo, Janie Trevino of Albuquerque, Marta Logan of Ft. Morgan, and Margaret Trevino of Grand Prairie.
