Clayton Woods Plummer

Clayton Woods Plummer, of Friona, Texas and formerly of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away August 1, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Clay lost his brief, but courageous fight against cancer.

Clay was born October 1, 1993 in Clovis, NM to Lee and Donna Plummer. He attended schools in Clovis, NM, Earth, TX, and Bovina, TX. He graduated from Clovis High School in 2012 and NMSU with a degree in Ag Business. Clay worked summers for his uncle, Justin and grandpa, Ray on the farm and ranch. After he graduated, he obtained a position at Vet Industries in Friona where he currently worked.

Clayton enjoyed fishing, camping, collecting knives, online video gaming and his gaming community of friends, and playing with his dog, Ranger. He was a history buff with a list of countries he had planned to explore. He recently got to go to Hawaii and a Red Hot Chili Pepper concert with his beloved brother, Tyler. Clayton enjoyed working at Vet Industries and visiting with all of his customers and friends.

Clayton was preceded in death by his uncle, Justin Starbuck; cousin, Matthew Qualls; and grandparents, Ray and Linda Starbuck, Don Lee, and Bobbie and Roy Plummer. He is survived by his parents, Lee and Donna of Clovis; his brother and best friend, Tyler Shackelford; sister-in-law, Kara Rechard Shackelford; aunts, Janice Qualls of Portales, Lori (Bob) Burkart of Oregon, Selena Starbuck of Clovis and Crystal (Steve) Fenstermaker of Clovis; his uncles Bill (Heidi) Plummer and Lyn Plummer of Texas; and cousins, Max and Mallory Burkart of Colorado; Heather, Holly and Amber (Gemma) Starbuck of Clovis; Wade (Lacey) Plummer of Friona; Jadie (Tia) Plummer of Arizona and Patrick Cole Qualls (Jessica) of Midland.

Special thanks to Edward Gutierrez, Chris Blair, and Dr. Steve Lewis at Vet Industries for their support, care, and understanding over the last six months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Robert Leon Jackson

Robert Leon Jackson, 68 of Amarillo, formerly of Friona was called home on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Home Going Graveside Services set for 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2023 in the Friona Cemetery with Rev. James Jackson, Deacon Johnny Jackson, and Deacon Roosevelt Jackson Jr., officiating. Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona.

Robert was born July 20, 1955 in Farwell to Robert Lawrence and Dorothy Coleman Jackson. He graduated from Friona High School in 1973, and from West Texas State University in 1977. Robert retired from Summit Group in July 2022.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching old western movies on TV. He spent a lot of time working on one of his favorite toys, his old Pontiac Trans Am that he loved to drive.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy, and his younger brother Rickey Jackson.

Those to mourn his passing include two sisters-Estella Faye Jackson and husband Johnny of Amarillo, and Vickey L. Jackson of Dallas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Timoteo "The Wolfman" Leal

Timoteo "The Wolfman" Leal, 72 of Bovina passed away August 14, 2023 in Bovina. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with Rosary Services at 6:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY. Mass of Christian Burial Services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2023 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Timoteo was born January 24, 1951 in Robstown, Texas to Seferino and Isabel Lara Leal. For many years he has farmed and worked on highway construction crews, as well as tinkering with his cars. He was quite a jokester that loved to spend time with his family and watch the Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother-Seferino Leal, Jr., and 1 sister-Janie Ramirez.

Those to mourn his passing include 1 son- Mark Anthony Leal and wife Deanna of Forney, 1 daughter-Maria Isabel Leal of Bovina, 4 brothers-Jimmy Leal of Friona, Ruben Leal and wife Rosabell of Dalhart, David Leal and Tommy Leal and wife Graciella, all of Bovina, 3 sisters- Susana Munoz of Dalhart, Rosa Medina of Dallas, and Lola Telles of Amarillo, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
