Elevinia Espinoza

Elevinia Espinoza, 73, of Bovina passed away April 8, 2024 in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 22. 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Bovina with Bro. Felix Sanchez, officiating. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Elevinia was born November 6, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Pablo and Hilda Lopez Garza. She married Jesus Espinoza Jr. December 19, 1971. For many years she was a beautician in Bovina, worked at the grocery store in Bovina and was a library aide for the Bovina ISD. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren., raised funds for underprivileged children, was a regular contributor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, spent many hours making hand made quilts, tending to her garden vegetables and grilling outside.

She is preceded in death by her parents-Pablo and Hilda, her husband-Jesus, siblings Lionel Noe Garza, Nelda Martinez, Reyes Garza, and many nieces and nephews.

Those to carry on her legacy include her children-Cesaria "Cesa' Melissa Thoresen and husband Kenneth of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Andrew "Andy" Jesus Espinoza and wife Felicia of Amarillo, Texas, siblings-Ernestina Ramirez of Louisiana, Susan Young of San Antonio, Texas, Pablo Garza Jr. of Garciasville, Texas, Hilda Powers of Lubbock, Texas, Ricardo Garza of Mission, Texas, Criselda Alvarado of McAllen, Texas, Jesse Garza of Alamo, Texas, Javier Garza of Houston, Texas and Jaime Garza of McAllen, Texas, grandchildren-Everett Roger Thoresen, Sonja Mercedes Thoresen, Jocelyn Eve Espinoza, and Yasmine Danielle Espinoza.

Delwin Don "Doc" Allen

Delwin Don "Doc" Allen, DVM, 72 of Friona, passed away April 11, 2024. Viewing will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family visitation from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Celebration of Life Services are set for 10:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Friona with Pastor Brett Hoyle officiating. Burial following at the Reed Cemetery in Reed, Oklahoma at 3:30 PM by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Delwin was born March 17, 1952, in Mangum, Oklahoma to June and Winfred Allen. He attended schools in Reed and Mangum, Oklahoma before attending Oklahoma State University where he graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He married Patricia "Patsy" Lamson on January 1, 1980, in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

After working in Oklahoma and Texas, Delwin and Patsy, accepted the opportunity with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to move their family to Friona in 1990 where he worked as a Federal Veterinarian for the USDA for 28 years, the IIC in Friona for 18 years and the Texas Panhandle Circuit Supervisor for 7 years.

Delwin had a gift for music that he shared with family and the community. Learning was always a priority in his life, and he valued education. He enjoyed reading and sharing what he learned with everyone. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He spent a great deal of time exploring the outdoors and traveling to new places.

He is preceded in death by his parents, June and Winfred Allen.

Those who carry on his legacy include his wife of 44 years-Patsy Allen of Friona, their children-Jesse Allen and his children Jaxxn of Wheeler, Jenni and Luci of Amarillo, Alice and her husband Aaron Doyle and their daughter Clare of Fort Worth, Texas, Emily and her husband Andrew Stowers and their daughters, Rylee and Layla of Amarillo, Texas, sister- Judy Jenkins and husband Bob of El Reno, Oklahoma, and sister Kathy Haley and husband Guy of Granite, Oklahoma.

Billy Nichols

Billy Nichols, 83, of Friona, Texas passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2024. Celebration of Life services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday April 15, 2024 at Nazarene Family Church, 1410 La Plata Street in Hereford, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Billy "Bill" was born on April 24, 1940 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Clyde and Valgene Nichols. He graduated from High School in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Billy served in the United States Air Force for four years. He then met and married his best friend on March 17, 1966. Billy worked for the railroad for over 30 years before he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling in his RV, going to places like Ruidoso where he enjoyed fellowship with friends. Billy cherished moments with his family and dedicated most of his free time to them. He especially enjoyed laughter; his sense of humor was priceless. He was loved by so many and will be truly missed.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Valgene Nichols and one brother, Doyle Nichols.

Survivors include his wife, Francis Nichols of the home; his son, Gregg Nichols and wife Melanie of Amarillo, Texas; his daughter, Michelle Sauviac and her husband Jason of Lewisville, Texas; his sister, Glenna Swaner of Snyder, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Shawna Nichols, Jennifer Sutton, Kelton Day and Brendon Day; eight great grandchildren, Caden Day, Miles Day, Lainey Day, Ava Day, Braedon Nichols, Cayden Nichols, Adriana Nichols and Caitlynn Nichols.
