It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Bart Bronniman, age 58 of Clovis, NM on July 6, 2026. Though his life ended far too soon, the legacy of compassion, courage, and service he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 am, with Brad Fields officiating at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton Street. Derek Evans, Ray Romero, Ricky Thornton and Stan Mixon will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Bart graduated from Friona High School in 1986 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Ag business from Abilene Christian University, where he met and married Leslie Peeters. Together they welcomed their daughter, Caitlin, in 1992. Later, Bart met Sharla McDonald and they were married in 2007. Together they welcomed twin daughters, Madison and Taylor, in 2011.
Bart dedicated his life to serving others. For 17 years, he proudly served as a Lieutenant firefighter and paramedic with the Clovis Fire Department. He later served as a flight medic with AeroCare, providing critical care to patients when they needed it most. His commitment to public service also included serving as a firefighter/medic on the bombing range at Cannon Air Force Base and as a transfer medic with the Texico Volunteer Fire Department. If someone needed help, Bart was the kind of man who showed up. Apart from work, Bart loved spending time outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing at the lake, playing golf, and watching NASCAR. He valued hard work, friendship, and time with those he loved most.
One of the greatest blessings of Bart’s life was his family. He greatly enjoyed being “PaPa” to Finn and playing tractors at any request. He was lovingly adopted by Oscar and Lavelle Bronniman, who raised him with unconditional love and gave him the foundation that shaped the man he became. Their love was a defining part of his story, and Bart carried it with him throughout his life.
Bart is survived by his daughter, Caitlin (Jeff) Story, and their son, Finn; his daughter, Madison Bronniman and her mother, Sharla (Rob) Hunsucker; his father, Oscar (Kay) Bronniman; the mother of his daughter Caitlin, Leslie (Kirk) Wright; sister, Bena (Jerry) Glasscock and brother, Bret (Krista) Bronniman as well as many beloved family members, lifelong friends, and countless brothers and sisters in the firefighting, EMS, and first responder communities whose lives he impacted.
He was preceded in death by his beloved infant daughter, Taylor Bronniman, and his mother, Lavelle Bronniman.
Bart will be remembered not only for the lives he saved, but for the life he lived. The last few years were very hard on him, but he took every opportunity to make a lake trip or watch his NASCAR races every Sunday. He had a goofy sense of humor, great taste in music (although his daughter disagreed ha-ha), and was very outgoing.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we are forever grateful for the years we shared with him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
