A Celebration of Life for Jimmy Darrell Broyles, 76, of Logan, New Mexico, will be held at the American Legion Post 77, 101 8th St. in Logan, New Mexico, on Saturday, August 29th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Jimmy, beloved husband, father, grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away on August 13, 2026. Jimmy was born on February 14, 1950, in Amherst, Texas. He graduated from Friona High School in 1968 and went on to attend TSTC in Waco, where he earned his associate degree in underwater welding. His career eventually led him back home, where he managed Friona Parts & Service. He later finished his career in San Angelo, Texas, retiring from Hirschfeld Steel in 2012.
On June 5, 1992, Jimmy married Tonna, the love of his life, best friend, and favorite travel partner. For 34 years, they built a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, adventure, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Whether they were traveling the roads of New Mexico, exploring the trails of the Canadian River, or riding the streets of Logan in their Talon, Jimmy and Tonna simply enjoyed being together. Every trip was an adventure, but what mattered most was that they were taking it side by side.
Jimmy was also, without a doubt, the greatest uncle who ever lived. He was patient and kind, and he had the best silver-toothed grin you had ever seen whenever something amused him.
He loved playing pool and was a proud member of the Quay County Pool League. Jimmy was the “best” player on his team, the Mixed Nuts, and enjoyed the friendships and good times that came along with the game.
Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, fishing, riding his Talon, and escaping to the mountains. Some of his happiest moments were spent outdoors, surrounded by the people he loved most. For Jimmy, it wasn’t just about where the road or trail led—it was about the family and friends who were there beside him.
Jimmy lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, hard work, and, above all, love. He leaves behind countless memories and a legacy that will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved him. His family will forever remember his patience, his adventurous spirit, and, of course, that unforgettable silver-toothed grin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dean Broyles, brother Johnny Broyles, sister Patcine Jenkins, and nephew, Toby Gibson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Tonna Broyles; stepdaughter Mindy Malcom and husband Dave; grandkids Ella, Major, and Emry Malcolm, all from Nebraska; sister Maxine Broyles and husband Randy of San Angelo, Texas, and sister-in-law Robin Broyles of Amarillo, Texas. He was the cherished uncle of Michael Broyles and wife Teri, Jenni Diaz and husband Jimmy, Toni Kay Redfearn and husband Brady, all from Amarillo, Texas; Kiley Gibson of Groom, Texas; and Deanna Brookfield of Llano, Texas; four great-nephews; eight great-nieces; and one great-great-niece.
