Road construction dominates five miles of Highway 60 just west of Friona. Above, the grinder is chewing up the asphalt and depositing it in a truck for transport. The asphalt will eventually be recycled. Kiewit Infrastructure South Co. is the company assigned to this project. Everyone is reminded to obey the speed limit and be cautious while driving through the construction area.

Council approves sidewalk sales

At Monday night’s city council meeting the Chamber of Commerce request to allow all businesses to have sidewalk sales without permit fees was approved. The dates are on July 4 and July 16 during the Cheeseburger Festival. No sidewalk sale permit will be needed for those dates. (more...)

Parmer County Commissioner report for June 13

The County Commissioners met Monday June 13 in Farwell. The annual audit was approved. County Judge Trey Ellis said the county now has five months capital in reserve, down from nine months this time last year. (more...)
