Summer is here and corn on the cob is one of my favorite fresh vegetables. I have tried many things over the years to get the corn separated from husk and silk and most did not work. I ran across this method on Facebook and think I will try it:

Here’s a quick rundown on a super-easy technique for shucking those stubborn ears of corn and easily removing all of the silk. It’s the steam from the microwave that really does the trick.

1. Starting from the stalk end, slice off the tip 1 inch above the last row of kernels.

2. Place on a plate, and microwave for 2 to 4 minutes.

3. Grab the corn by the uncut end, and shake while squeezing at the same time. The corn will slide out husk-and-silk free!

It’s worth a try!
