Average retail gasoline prices in Texas have risen 3.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.34/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 13,114 gas outlets in Texas. This compares with the national average that has increased 3.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.57/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Texas during the past week, prices yesterday were 25.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 9.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 8.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 30.7 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

Friona High School Basketball teams are playing at home this Friday, January 26, against Dimmitt for Senior Recognition Night. Basketball King and Queen will be announced at the game. The JV Girls and JV Boys will play at 5:00 p.m., Varsity Girls will play at 6:30 p.m. and Varsity Boys will play at 8:00 p.m. Come out and support your Chieftains and Squaws!
