Helen Carthel

Helen Carthel, 98, of Friona passed away April 20, 2018 in Friona. Celebration of Life Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday April 23, 2018 at the Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery in Muleshoe with Shane Roy, officiating. Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Helen was born May 22, 1919 in Floyd County, Texas to Oris Melvalee and Effie Jacobs Jennings. She married Edward Marion Carthel April 18, 1937.

Helen was a member of the High Desert Methodist Church at Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She loved walking, crafting, crocheting, bowling, and in her later years, Wii bowling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son-Duane Carthel, 2 brothers-Elvie Jennings and Bill Jennings and 1 sister-Nerine Malone.

Those left to carry on her legacy are her 3 daughters-Martha Duncan and husband Leonard of Stratford, Evonna Joiner of Rio Rancho, and Jan Saiz and husband Robert of Friona, 2 sons-Malcolm Carthel and wife Terri of Amarillo and Guy Eddie Carthel and wife Vicki of Elk City, Oklahoma, 2 sisters-in-law- Virginia Jennings of Canyon and Frances “Pug” Jennings of Muleshoe, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Jimmy R. Walker

Jimmy R. Walker, 68, of Canyon died April 16, 2018, four days shy of his 69th birthday. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. in Amarillo.

Jimmy was born April 20, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Isom and Marie Walker. He graduated from Dimmitt High School was married to Sue Ellen Luttrell for 20 years. Jimmy was a member of Rockwell Road Baptist Church where he drove a bus for their Feed the Children’s Ministry for several years.

Jimmy had worked for Deaf Smith County Road Maintenance, Kendrick Oil Company and Premium Standard Farms in Dalhart. He then became a service manager for the Amarillo branch of Business Hygiene. He was an avid Texas Tech Red Raider and Oakland Raiders fan. Jimmy had many friends throughout the entire Texas Panhandle.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby Walker in 2005.

Jimmy is survived by his dear wife, Sue of Canyon; daughter, Pam Richards of Trout Lake, Washington; stepdaughter, Amanda Lynn Rice of Denton, Texas; son, Mark Walker and wife Dendee of Canyon, Texas; sister, Sandra Bradshaw of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Jerry Walker of Dimmitt, Texas; and 5 grandchildren, Brylee, Draden, Elijah, Alyssa and Mattison.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Rockwell Road Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, P.O. Box 31495, Amarillo, Texas 79120-1495. Please reference his name on donation for family appreciation.

Raymond Hamilton

Raymond Hamilton, 65, of Friona passed away April 21, 2018. Viewing will be April 24, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home with Celebration of Life Services scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Friona with Rev. Brett Hoyle, pastor, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Raymond was born August 19, 1952 in Lubbock to William Glyn and Martha Rebecca Blassingame Hamilton. He later married Pamela Lewellen January 5, 1975 in Friona.

He was a long time Parmer County farmer, a past board member of the Parmer County FSA, Friona Coop Gin, Kids Inc., and was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was a humble man that helped others and could fix anything. The loves of his life were his family, especially his grandchildren who always say, “Pop never says no.”

Raymond is preceded in death by his father, 1 brother Charles Hamilton and 1 daughter Jenny Riethmayer.

Those to carry on his legacy are his wife of Friona, 2 sons-Davy Hamilton, wife Kelly, and their children Katie and Josh of Canyon, Jeff Hamilton, wife Kamie, and their children Jacie and Slade of Canyon, son-in-law-Corbin Riethmayer and his children Colton, Kamryn and Matthew of Friona, mother-Martha Hamilton of Friona, 1 brother-Alan Hamilton and wife Janice of Texico and 1 sister-Diane Hamilton of Buda, Texas.

Teresa “Terry” Lynn Baca Braillif

Teresa “Terry” Lynn Baca Braillif, 60, of Friona passed away April 22, 2018 in Friona. Prayer Vigil at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Mass of Christian Burial Services Scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Henry Wilson Echavarria Rodriguez of the parish and Deacon Gabriel Rivas of Canyon as Celebrants. Burial in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Terry was born July 10, 1957 in Clovis to John and Matilda Jane Brito Baca. Later she graduated from Friona High School and married Raul Braillif May 8, 1982 in Friona.

She was an LVN for 35 years and a Pharmacy Technician for five, and a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina.

She loved to do puzzles and watch movies, but the largest part of her time was spent with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Willie Braillif Sr., and brother -in-law Willie Braillif Jr.

Those remaining to carry on her legacy include her husband of Friona, 2 daughters-Candi Geske and husband Eric of Bovina and Brandi Balli and husband Juan of Friona, 1 sister Peggy Neely and husband Bill of Friona, and 3 grandchildren-Chloe Braillif, Caleb Geske and Ariana Balli.
