St. Patrick’s Day is this Sunday, March 17,2019. Fun fact: St. Patrick’s Day is primarily celebrated as a recognition of Irish and Irish American culture; celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, eating and drinking, religious observances, and numerous parades. The holiday has been celebrated on the North American continent since the late 18th century. On this date if you don’t wear green, a fairy or leprechaun might pinch you, so the legend goes. As a part of the St. Patrick’s Day tradition, people would pinch anyone who was not wearing green, as a reminder of the leprechauns lurking around. So make sure you wear green on the 17!
