Gertrude Ann Euler Bigelow

"Trudi"

Gertrude Ann Euler was born May 2, 1929 in Hereford, Texas to Martha and Elmer Euler. She died August 11, 2021 at the age of 92.

She attended schools in Friona Texas and graduated from Friona High School in 1947. She also attended Oklahoma Baptist University, West Texas State University, and Texas Woman's University. She met her husband, Ralph Emerson Bigelow at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She received a B.A. degree in Speech Communication at California State University Fullerton.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Lavender (James) of Manteca, California; son Lars Bigelow (Gina) of Fullerton California; five granddaughters Jamie Lavender MD, Elise Flores (Luis), Jenna Lavender, Shelby Bigelow, Jeida Lavender; four great grandchildren David, Lily, Ripken and Asher.

Trudi had many lifelong friends she'd met throughout her life. She spoke fondly of her time at Cimarroncita Ranch Camp, New Mexico (1952), owning Twining Weavers shop in Taos (early 1980s) and her friends in the Golfside Condo Association where she lived in Rio Rancho New Mexico. She enjoyed classical music and genealogy.

Her memorial will be a family gathering. Date to be determined. Thank you to all for your condolences.

Lino Medrano Contreras

Lino Medrano Contreras, 94 of Bovina passed away September 9, 2021 in Friona. Viewing was held from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2021 with Rosary Services Scheduled for 6:00 PM at the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church of Bovina, with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Lino was born September 23, 1926 in Santa Fe del Pino Cuauhila, Mexico to Paz and Ana Medrano Contreras. He later married Juana Soria in 1963.

He was a Parmer County farmer for 34 years, then worked for several grain elevators for 11 years, retiring in 1998. He was known as quite a jokester, always having fun. He loved to take care of his animals and watch TV. He was a member or St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina.

Lino is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son-Juan Manuel Contreras, 9 brothers and 1 sister.

Those that will mourn his passing include his wife Juana of Bovina, 2 daughters-Maria P. Hernandez and Ana Castaneda, both of Bovina, 2 sons-Juan C. Contreras of Friona, and Martin Contreras of Clovis, 1 sister-Alicia Flores of Mexico, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
