Town Talk

Four Seasons — We enjoy having a climate that includes all four seasons. Usually each season is contained in a 3-4 month time frame spread throughout the year. However, in the Texas Panhandle, sometimes we can “enjoy” all four seasons in the same week or even within a couple of days. This past week we had a Dust Bowl “brown out” one day and a snowfall “white out” the next day. This “weather whiplash” is expected to repeat itself during the upcoming week.

Meal in a Box — Monday is Pack Your Lunch day. Almost everyone has packed a lunch sometime in their life. Either as a school meal, or for a track meet or other school event, or a vacation, or just a picnic. Mickey Mouse was the first licensed character to appear on a lunchbox in 1935. One of my favorites was the Hot Wheels lunchbox. My regular meal was a bologna sandwich, chips, and punch.
