Rebecca Bermea Constancio

Rebecca Bermea Constancio, age 88, former resident of Friona, current resident of Hereford, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, peacefully at home.

Rebecca was born in Menard, Texas on April 23, 1936, and lived most of her life in Friona since the late 1960s. She was the daughter of the late Ezequiel and Maria de Jesus Morales Bermea. Rebecca worked as a food server in the Friona Junior High School Cafeteria serving students their meals. Many of those students were her own children and grandchildren, which always brightened her day and brought a smile to her heart. She was also a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking, she was known for her famous lemon meringue pies. Rebecca was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, in Friona, Texas for many years.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her former husband, Fred Constancio Jr.; son, Fred Constancio, III; son, Cosme Constantino Bermea Constancio; son, Lucas Bermea Constancio; daughter, Dora Bermea Constancio Pence; three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her children: Joel (Isidra) Constancio, Ezequiel (Angie) Constancio, Linda (Raymon) Chavez, all of Hereford, Texas and Nina (Michael) Bozell of Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; She is survived by one remaining sister, Aurora Ramon, of Coleman, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, on Friday April 11 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 115 N 25 Mile Ave, in Hereford, Texas, with Fr. Nick Gerber officiating. Interment will follow at Ropesville Cemetery in Ropesville, Texas immediately following church services. The family will receive family and friends at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home, 601 Main Street, Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM where the Holy Rosary will be offered at 6:00 PM.

Shirley Ova Jean Jackson

Shirley Ova Jean Jackson, 85 of Lubbock, formerly of Friona passed away April 3, 2025 in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Services were 1:00 PM Monday April 7, 2025 at the Friona Cemetery in Friona with Coleman Jackson, officiating. Arrangements entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Shirley was born July 11, 1939 in Rock Bottom, Arkansas to Rufus and Delpha Balanger Vinson. She was a waitress at many area restaurants in Friona and Hereford and loved talking to her customers. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed garage sales and dancing.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents-Rufus and Delpha, and by 1 sister-Sue Bentley.

Those to mourn her passing include 3 sisters-Eva Vickery and husband Richard of Penn Yan, New York, Diana Woodford and husband Frank of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Brenda Jackson and husband Coleman of Littlefield, Texas.
