It has been many years in the making, but now the diagnosis is confirmed. After 32 years of service to Friona and Parmer County, Dr. Felipe Jubay is officially retired. Family, co-workers, patients, and friends dropped by last Friday at the community center to thank Dr. Jubay for his service and to wish him and his family the very best in the next chapter of their lives. Each year Valero Energy Corporation, headquartered in San Antonio, chooses a non-profit organization where Valero employees will spend the day helping in whatever way is necessary. Parmer Paws was chosen this year and the Valero team was joined by Parmer Paws volunteers and Kendrick Oil Company employees to participate in the event. The 60+ volunteers made sure that every inch of the facility was either cleaned, washed, painted, dusted, planted, raked or whatever else was required. Also, Trejo Construction built two pergolas to provide extra shade for the animals.
