Elizabeth “Liz” Jesko

Elizabeth “Liz” Jesko, 80, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026, in Friona, Texas. Viewing was held from 1:00 PM to 8 PM Sunday May 31, 2026 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rosary Service at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Services were held Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Nick Gerber as Celebrant and Deacon Michael Glenn, officiating. Burial will follow at the Friona Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Liz was born January 31, 1946, in Clovis, New Mexico, to John P.A. and Virginia (Hines) Drager. She grew up as a cherished member of the Rhea and Friona communities, where she was raised and where her roots ran deep. She proudly graduated from Friona High School in 1964 and went on to attend beauty school, building a career as a hairdresser — a craft she practiced with warmth and genuine care for those she served. A hardworking woman of the land, she was always ready to lend a hand on the farm, reflecting the steadfast spirit she carried throughout her life. Her faith was a cornerstone of all she did, and she was a devoted member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Above all, Liz found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them.

She was united in marriage to Wayne Jesko on August 5, 1967, and together they built a life filled with faith, hard work, and family.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Samuel “Sam” Drager; a sister-in-law, Carrie Drager; and a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Jesko.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Wayne Jesko; two sons, Dustan Jesko and wife Lydia of San Antonio, and Kirk Jesko; and one brother, Aaron Drager and wife Ginger of Clovis, New Mexico. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Madison Jesko, Jonathan Jesko, Abigail Jesko, Kaleb Jesko, and Brylee Jesko (and her mother, Lana Bracken); one great-grandchild, Anderson Dunbar; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her in their hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Liz’s memory to: Life In Christ Academy c/o St. John Lutheran Church 725 CR DD, Farwell, Texas 79325
