Squaw libero Taylor Stallings makes a great save to keep the ball in play during Saturday's three game sweep of the Post Lady Lopes. Others are Erica Barrera (4), Kendall Barnett (7), and Courtney Bunker (1). The Squaws won their first district match at Dimmitt Tuesday night, winning 3-1. They host Grady here Saturday October 10 at 2:00/3:00 p.m.

Town Talk II

Finally gave in and turned on my heat Saturday evening. Got too chilly for my old bones. My go to rain guy John Gurley reported Monday that as of 7:00 a.m. the city had received .85", at 10-mile corner .80" and unofficially Hollene had 1.20" Gonna be fall the rest of the week with more rain maybe starting Wednesday. Mayor's Minutes

September started with a big bang getting ready for Labor Day, Kid Fish and finally Maize Days. The cemetery, all parks, Reeve Lake, Redeemer Center, wells, well plants, and sewer plant were mowed and weeded twice and some three times. The city looked great for Maize Days. Mowing will be slowing down and the public works employee’s will be concentrating on grading the alleys. Some of the alleys are completed but with the recent rain, the alleys will have to be worked again. (more...)
