It was a crazy weekend for the Chieftains baseball team. They were to open bi-district play here Friday vs. River Road at 5:00 p.m. but a Friday morning rain made the field too muddy. The game was then moved to Muleshoe at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday they were to play at noon at River Road but that game was moved to West Texas High (Stinnett) at 3:00 p.m. The games were supposed to be broadcast on KNNK radio but their tower was struck by lightning and they were off the air for a long while.

The Chieftains lost two games to River Road 13-1 and 9-4 eliminating them from the playoffs. (more...)
