WELCOME TO THE NEW AND IMPROVED AG FARM...The Friona High School FFA program was the recipient of improved animal sheds recently. JEM Services, LLC was enlisted by a group of investors to design and remodel the existing buildings at the Ag Farm east of Friona. The updates are providing protection from the elements and a place where the students can work with their animals. The students were also included in the construction. They are welding special gates and doors that will be installed at a later date. Town Talk

Got a call this week from David Brumley at Bootleg. He was thanking everyone that came out to help put out the fire that burned 125 acres but missed houses and winter hay due to their help.

It is great to live in a rural community. First responders and neighbors helped Brumley at his time of need. He said that people just kept showing up to help.

Commissioners reinstate countywide burn ban

The Parmer County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, November 27 to discuss a routine agenda, which included reinstating the Parmer County Burn Ban, which is in effect and will be for the next 90 days unless conditions warrant the lifting of the ban. (more...)

All-District Football honors announced

Friona High School Athletic Director Jimmy Arias announced this week that the All-District Offensive and Defensive teams had been received.

First Team All-District Offense honors went to Offensive Lineman Erick Prieto; Wide Receiver Jonathan Hernandez; Quarterback Marco Monreal; and Running back Sergio Flores. (more...)
