Commissioners approve purchase of building

The Parmer County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, March 27 at 10 a.m. in the County Courtroom at the Parmer County Courthouse in Farwell.

The Commissioners approved the building inspection and the purchase of the building at 301 Gardner in Bovina for the housing of the AgriLife Extension Office, Justice of the Peace and other offices.

In other business the Commissioners approved a 2017 Homestead Exemption on the Farm-to-Market Fund of $3,000 as well as an additional $3,000 Homestead Exemption on the General Fund. This is an added tax break. According to Parmer County Judge Trey Ellis, this move will be the same as Oldham and Bailey County already have in place.

The Commissioners approved the 2016 Continuing Education Hours for Parmer County District Clerk Sandra Warren.

The next meeting for the Commissioner’s Court will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. These meetings are open to the public.
