Mother Nature had her own fireworks Tuesday evening before the Friona Volunteer Fire Department presented an excellent Fourth of July display at Reeve Lake. High winds, dirt and rain buffeted the area shortly before the flag ceremony was to be held at 7 p.m. The clouds, rain and lightning cleared out approximately two hours later to reveal a beautiful evening for the 2017 fireworks display.

Luke and Colt Carthel, sons of Andy and Tabitha Carthel, were all decked out for the Fourth of July 3rd Annual Neighborhood Parade on Tuesday. They were among many that came out to celebrate.

Town Talk

The 9th Annual Pudge Kendrick Memorial Golf Tournament is fast approaching. This is a two-person scramble held at the John Pitman Golf Club in Hereford July 29-30. Cost for the event is $250 and will cover the Saturday evening meal for player and one guest, a free practice round on Friday (cart not included) and range balls. Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Parmer County Cancer Coalition and the Hereford Cancer Coalition. Here comes the 12th Annual Cheeseburger Festival

The Friona Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture welcomes everyone to the 12th Annual Cheeseburger Festival this Saturday, July 15, at the Friona City Park. Come on out and enjoy an afternoon in the park with friends, food and fun. There will be organized teams cooking up cheeseburger creations, the Friona Noon Lions World Famous Fries, vendors and games. (more...)

Sew Much Fun July 31
