Adriana Carrillo competed at the Girls State Powerlifting Meet in Waco, TX on Saturday March 17th. She placed 14th in 3A and improved her lift total from 760 at Regionals to 805 at the State Meet. She was the first Girls State Powerlifting Qualifier Friona has had since 2011.

The ‘Cans for Seniors’ trailer is parked back on Main Street behind the fire station. The seniors are still collecting cans to earn money for the Senior All-Night Party. Please collect your empty cans and bring them to the trailer!

Hospital Announces Scholarships Available

At the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Parmer Medical Center on Monday, March 12, 2018, the decision was made to once again award four $2500 scholarships to high school seniors residing in Parmer County. Recipients will be students with intent to study and enter a career in the health care industry. In addition to satisfying other academic and eligibility criteria, recipients will have demonstrated exemplary leadership in high school and/or civic activities. (more...)

Former Friona resident honored for services in healthcare

Amy Blankenship is a Friona graduate, and has been working with BSA for 29 years. Last year, Blankenship was recognized as a 2017 BSA Nurse of the Year and also received a Daisy Award for her outstanding services and actions. (more...)
