Health Fairs are well attended

The Friona Senior Health Fair drew a crowd of approximately 140 people last Thursday at the Senior Citizen’s Building. Local health-related businesses provided health screenings, information, and promotional items. The Friona Noon Lions cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries. Also in attendance was Congressman Jodey C. Arrington and two members of his staff. Jodey is the U.S. Representative for the 19th District of Texas. Pictures from event are on page 2 of the Friona Star.

Over 130 kids participated in the KidzHealth & Safety Fair last Saturday at the Friona Community Center. Lunch was provided and there was plenty of games, activities, prizes, and safety tips. Prize winners are shown on page 9 of the Friona Star.

Thanks goes to Parmer Medical Center and the Friona Rural Health Clinic for sponsoring the events and also to all those local businesses who participated in the events.

Chief Engineer Larry Rector of the Git-R-Done Railroad is shown escorting a group of kids on a tour of Reeve Lake during the Kids Health & Safety Fair.
