Benito C. Arizmendez Sr.

Benito C. Arizmendez Sr., 86 of Bovina passed away May 22, 2019 in Farwell. Viewing was scheduled from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 26, 2019 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home with Rosary Services at 6:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial Services were held 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 27, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Gregory Bunyan as Celebrant. Cremation and arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Benito was born December 23, 1932 in Santa Rosa, Texas to Jacinto and Herlinda Cortez Arizmendez. He later married Simona Hernandez April 10, 1951 in La Feria, Texas.

He was a employee of Sherley-Anderson Grain Elevator for 37 years. He loved to dance and play bingo and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 brother-Jacinto Arizmendez Jr. and 2 sisters-Adelita Gonzalez and Lupita Rosales.

Those to carry on his legacy include-1 son-Benito Arizmendez, Jr. of San Antonio, 2 daughters-Lupe Garcia and Linda Arizmendez of Bovina, 2 sisters-Felipa Moreno of Boca Raton, Florida and Francis Borrego of Edinburg, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Janice K. Miller

Janice K. Miller, 69 of New Deal passed away May 22, 2019 in Lubbock. A Graveside Service was held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Lazbuddie Cemetery with family officiating. Inurnment in the Lazbuddie Cemetery. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Janice was born February 1, 1950 in Amherst, Texas to Roy Martin and Lena Mae Barrett Miller.

Janice worked in the accounting departments in several businesses in the Lubbock area for many years. She loved genealogy, oil painting, fishing, traveling and casinos.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister-Kathy V. Cunningham.

Those to carry on her legacy include her stepmother-Ruth Miller of Friona, 1 son-Martin A. McDowell of Austin, 5 brothers-Roy Max Miller of Bridgeport, Gary L. Coker of Friona, Dannie Earl Miller of Austin, Roy Don Coker of Lazbuddie, and Eddie B. Miller of Friona, 3 sisters-Carol A. Miller of Irving, Diane R. Reeves of Cotton Center, and Bennie Jo Roberts of Lovington, N.M.
