The Friona Fire Department conducted the annual July 4th fireworks show last Thursday night at Reeve Lake. There were other smaller shows conducted in and around the town before and after the “big” show by other numerous firework enthusiasts. See More Photos in our Photo Section.

Congratulations to Crystal and everyone at Milk House Market. They celebrated their 5th Anniversary this past week by conducting the annual Barn Sale and it was another barn-burner. Take Five with Joy Morton

Joy Morton taught in the Friona school system for 42 years. She started in the Fall of 1962 and retired in the Spring of 2004. After a short retirement, she started teaching again at the Hereford campus of Amarillo College. She began this second career in the Fall of 2005 and is still teaching there today. (more...)

Parmer County to purchase new voting machines

The Parmer County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, July 8th at 10:00 a.m. in the County Courtroom of the Parmer County Courthouse in Farwell, Texas. The meeting began with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag. (more...)

Chieftain Football Camp is July 22-24

The Friona Chieftain Football Camp will be held at Friona High School from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 22nd through 24th. The camp is offered for 3rd-8th grade kids. There is a fee of $20.00 to attend the camp. Brochures can be picked up at Friona High School and the Friona ISD Building.
