DON’T FORGET!!! — The Freshman class is hosting a Pancake Supper on Friday, January 31st from 5-7 p.m. at the High School Cafeteria. Tickets are $8 ($10 at the door) and can be purchased from any FHS freshman. Take-out is available with basic meal. Funds raised from this event will be used in the future for the Junior/Senior prom.

The new elevator for the museum was delivered last week. The unit was set in place but it will be a while before it is operational. Some framing and finishing work still needs to be completed.

Results are in from the January 23rd Friona Community Blood Drive. 59 individuals signed in and 52 of those were able to donate. There were 6 first-time donors. A total of 58 units of blood was collected. Each unit of blood donated saves 3 lives. Each donor received a long-sleeved t-shirt and a pass to the Escape the Trap House in Amarillo. Next blood drive will be in April. Thank you, Friona.

On Sunday, February 9, First Baptist Church Friona will host a Father-Daughter Date Night from 5-7pm. This special night is for dads and daughters who are college age or younger, and will be a special evening including a wonderful meal, biblical encouragement, and a few laughs along the way. Lazbuddie middle school students will compete in the regional competition of the 2020 National Science Bowl. The event will be held on Saturday, February 1st at West Texas A&M University. The National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science manages the event.
