Thanks to our volunteer firemen for their service to the community.

Town Talk II

Quiet holiday weekend in Friona. We attended the 4th of July parade in Bovina and the neighborhood parade on 10th street in Friona. Friday night we and several hundred others gathered around the Reeve Lake neighborhood for the Friona fireworks show. In spite of the “no fireworks in the city limits” law, you could hear (and see) fireworks all over town until well after midnight. Thanks to the Friona fire department for managing the fireworks show.

Friona firemen were called out Monday morning about 11:30 a.m. to an address on 4th St. Some French fries caught on fire. Also Friday evening just as the fireworks were ending the firemen were dispatched to CR19 where some fireworks set an old pile of rubbish on fire. Busy few days for our firemen. (more...)
