Juana Maria Reyes

Juana Maria Reyes, 76, of Sunray, formerly of Bovina, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial Services were held Friday, March 13, 2015 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Rev. Anthony Swamy Aakula as Celebrant. Burial followed in the Bovina Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home in Friona.

Juana was born April 15, 1938 in Mexico to Maria De Los Angeles Najera. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved her grandchildren and family, sewing, crocheting, tending her plants and her beloved puppy.

Survivors include nine daughters, Ignacia Bermea of Bovina, Irma Turley of Sunray, Isabel Espinoza of Bovina, Maria Reyes of Lubbock, Anita Reyes of Byram, Mississippi, Eliza Espinoza of Dodge City, Kansas, Gloria Reyes of Bovina, Juanita Carrizales of San Antonio, and Raquel Reyes of Amarillo; five sons, Jose Angel Reyes of Clovis, Rosendo Reyes of Weslaco, Juan Reyes of Kingsville, Constantino Reyes Jr. of Bovina and Ray Reyes of Bovina; 34 grandchildren; 47 great–grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Lee Albert Campbell

Lee Albert Campbell, 88, of Friona died Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life services were held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Friona with Rev. Brett Hoyle, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Friona, and Rev. Bobby Broughton, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Friona, officiating. Family burial services followed at the Friona Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home in Friona.

Lee was born December 31, 1926 in Swisher County, Texas to Horace Porter and Pearl Davies Campbell. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He married Elwanda Strickland December 30, 1950 in Clovis. Lee was a teacher for the Friona I.S.D. for 20 years. He was a member of the Friona Volunteer Fire Department for an amazing 62 years. He and Elwanda owned Campbell Butane for many years. Lee was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his family and life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray and Cecil Campbell; and two sisters, Dorothy Bumgardner and Norma Hough.

Survivors include his wife Elwanda of Friona; one son, Randy Ray Campbell and wife Deborah of Friona; one daughter, Cindy Kay Simmons and husband Jerry of Friona; two sisters, Nila Nickell of Amarillo and Doris Tucker and husband Jack of Top Of The Lake, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Campbell, Rachel Cavazos, Jeremy Campbell, Cody Simmons, and Rusty Simmons; and eleven great-grandchildren, Jake Albert Campbell, Emily Ann Campbell, Gage Campbell, Addyson Gallard, Brooklyn Simmons, Lily Simmons, Grady Simmons, Shanlee Simmons, Corbin Cavazos, Kyler Cavazos and Jadence Cavazos.
