It is garage sale time in the city. I notice all of the garage sale signs posted on cardboard boxes, telephone poles, and even on the TxDOT boxes at Main and Hwy 60. Here is the deal. I hope your garage sale was successful. Now go and take down your garage sale signs. The sale is over and your signs are still hanging around. There should be a city ordinance since many of the signs are on public property.

At a local blood council meeting last week our Coffee Memorial Blood Center donor coordinator told the council that appointments can now be made online. We will print more details about the August 20 blood drive as the date gets closer.

Had lunch Sunday at Leal's on Mabry in Clovis with a cousin from Temple that I had not seen in about 15 years. He works for a company that shuttles railroad crews around and was in Clovis for about a week. We decided to meet at Leal's at 11:00 a.m. New Mexico time to beat the lunch rush. Haha! The parking lot was full and so was the restaurant. We had about a 15 minute wait. Had the Crispy Chile Relleno with brisket and it was delish.

The old two story Reeve home just west on FM 2013 has been torn down. The old house had deteriorated and was damaged by vandals so the family decided to tear it down. It was put into a hole on the property and burned. Lot of history there. Sorry to see it go. Sharon Reeve White wrote about the old house in this issue of the Star.
