Despite the cold, windy weather on Saturday, the Parmer County Memorial Cemetery Association brought their muscles & smiles as well as weedeaters and rakes to tackle the big job of cleaning up the cemetery west of Friona. The members of the association thanked everyone that came out to work on this project. They are planning another workday at a later date to finish the job.

The FHS FFA will have a Donation Car Wash & Sausage Wrap Sale on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the InterBank parking lot. Get a clean car and a yummy sausage wrap while you wait.

Four vie for FISD School Board Trustee seats

As the May 6 election nears for the Friona Independent School District Board of Trustees, the candidates are clarifying their positions for the voters. There are two seats open and the four candidates are Maria Monreal Garcia, Jamie Lewellen, Corbin Riethmayer and incumbent Wade Schueler. The candidates shared their thoughts on family, community and why they want to be on the FISD School Board. (more...)

FFA Car Wash Saturday, May 6

Agriculture Education Director Catie Parish Roach announced this week that the FHS FFA will hold a donation car wash and sausage wrap sale on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the InterBank parking lot. Everyone is invited to come out and get their car washed and enjoy a sausage wrap.

Farewell performance Sunday

The Friona High School Thespians will present their farewell performance of “The Anatomy of Gray” on Sunday, April 30 at 3:30 p.m. at the FHS Auditorium. Cast members are Lydia Alexander, Brooklynne Johnston, Angel Mills, Julian Cruz Cruz, Mariah Rivera, Paige Upton, Kessly Salinas, Tommy Hutchins, and Drew Montana. The play is directed by Katherine Thompson, FHS Theater director.
