Mary Catherine “Kitty” Bailey

Mary Catherine “Kitty” Bailey, 94, of Dimmitt, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Dimmitt. Kitty’s Celebration of Life Service was on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church, Dimmitt, Texas with Dr. Kris Knippa officiating. Burial followed in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family received friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the funeral home.

Kitty was born February 16, 1924, in Yukon, Oklahoma to Edgar Allen and Lou Ada (Jarvis) Moize. Kitty came to know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior as a young girl. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dimmitt, Texas. She married James “Jim” Bailey on September 2, 1945 in Rotan, Texas. In 1956, they moved to Abilene, Texas and on to Levelland, Texas in 1957. In 1958, they moved to Friona, Texas where Kitty babysat and worked in the school cafeteria. In 1978 they moved to Rio Vista, Texas. She retired from the school cafeteria in 1991, and she and Jim moved to Dimmitt, Texas, in 2000.

Kitty is survived by her daughter, Cathy Jackson and husband Cary of Dimmitt, Texas; three sons, John Woodson of Dimmitt, Texas; Fred Bailey and wife Beverly, of Friona; and Willie Bailey and wife Sally, of Kemp; two brothers, James Moize and wife Ann of Whitehouse, Texas, and Earl Moize and wife Waunell of Midland, Texas; one sister, Irene Mullins of Hereford, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 44 great-great grandchildren.

Kitty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and one great grandson, and one daughter-in-law.

William “Bill” Quinn

William “Bill” Quinn, 61 of Friona passed away January 1, 2019 in Friona. No services are currently scheduled. Cremation and arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Bill was born April 23, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia. He later married Ginger Kay Belcher January 12, 1996 in Dallas. Bill was a night supervisor at Nutri-Feeds in Hereford.

Bill was a free spirit and loved life. He loved to paint on canvas, gamble, fish and fix things. He was quite a handyman, in fact. He loved Halloween and decorating for it.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ginger, 1 brother Chuck Quinn and Smokey his beloved cat.

Those that are remaining that will truly miss Bill are his dogs Molley, Sugar and Junior. They truly were his immediate family and companions, 1 daughter-Melissa Sue Quinn Elmore of Frisco, 4 brothers-Mike Quinn of Mount Shasta, California, Paul Quinn of Great Falls, Montana, John Quinn, Sr. of Bonita Springs, Florida, James Quinn of Phoenix, AZ., 1 sister-Chris Bracken of Fairbury, Illinois, 1 grandson and many friends over the nation.

Vallie Dee Carmichael

Vallie Dee Carmichael, 92 of Portales, N.M. passed away at her home in Portales on January 5, 2019. Viewing was on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 with family visitation at HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home in Friona. Celebration of Life Graveside Services were on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Friona Cemetery in Friona with Rev. Melvin Hollyfield, Rev. Brian Green and Rev. Ron Fox, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carmichael was born October 26, 1926 in Gilmer, Texas to Ed Marion and Corine M. Metcalf Skipper. She later married Marvin V. Carmichael November 15, 1980 in Sudan.

She loved to work and care for others, crochet, work puzzles and go to church. She never left a conversation with you without ending it by saying, “You have a blessed day!”

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband 2 sons-Cecil Aills and Charles Edward Aills, 1 daughter Alice Aiils, 1 step-son-Rex Carmichael and 1 step-daughter-Marva Bullock.

Those to carry on her legacy include- 3 daughters-Mary Stone of Friona, Brenda Reese of Portales and Virginia Nevill of Santa Fe, 3 sons-Johnny Aiils of Victoria, David Aills of Conroe and Carroll Aills of Dallas, 1 sister-Norma Jones and 1 brother Royce Skipper, both of Gilmer, 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Josefina Alonzo-Coffey

Josefina Alonzo-Coffey, 70 of Bovina passed away January 6, 2019 in Clovis. Viewing will begin at 5 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Rosary Services at 6:30 P.M. at the church. Mass of Christian Burial Services are set for 10:00 A.M. Saturday January 12, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father George Bunyan as Celebrant. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Josefina was born March 3, 1948 in Slaton, Texas to Bernabe and Anita Solis Alonzo. She later married Ronald Coffey September 5, 1997.

Josefina was employed by Texas Tech University, Muleshoe, Bovina and Friona Independent School Districts, and was a past member of the Bovina I.S.D. Board of Trustees. She was actively involved in many organizations including Teen Court, CASA, United Way and HELP.

She coached and played softball and loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Bernabe Alonzo, Jr. and Saragosa Alonzo.

Those to carry on her legacy include: 1 daughter-Elizabeth Alonzo and 1 son-Deolando Alonzo, both of Clovis, 1 sister-Teresita Serna of Bovina, 4 brothers-Roy Alonzo of Pleasanton, Rene Alonzo of Mabank, Edward Alonzo of Utah, and Alfred Alonzo of Bovina, and 1 granddaughter Isabella Marie

Maynard Agee

Maynard Agee, 92, of Jourdanton, TX, formerly a long time resident of Friona, passed away January 7, 2019, in San Antonio.

Celebration of Life Services have been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Friona Cemetery Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Mullins, officiating. Burial will follow in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Maynard was born May 7, 1926 in Douglas, Arizona, to Hobson and Margareeta Green Agee. He married Mildred Lorene Mingus on March 20, 1948, in Clovis NM. They were married 69 years, living all but 4 years of their life in Friona until February 2013, when they moved to Jourdanton, Texas with their daughter Krystal Huschke and her husband Alvin.

He enlisted in the Navy in April 1944 and received a hardship discharge in February 1946, to help care for his sisters. He worked 32 years for Woody and Howard Fleming in the Hub area and Terra Fertilizer in Bovina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred, a sister, Joann Martin, brother, Elden Agee and 2 ½ month old great granddaughter, Scarlett Grace Huschke.

Those to carry on his legacy include: his sister Betty Wetsel of Midland, two daughters, Karen Barnwell Allen of Abilene, TX and Krystal Huschke and husband Alvin of Jourdanton, TX, one son Dean Agee and wife Jan of Amarillo, TX, 8 grandchildren - Brain Barnwell and wife April of Clovis NM, Tonya Purvine and husband Daniel of Abilene, TX, Davin Agee and wife Loretta of Amarillo, TX, Dustin Buehrer and wife Megan of Pleasanton, TX, Keya Heckman and husband Brandon of Jourdanton, TX, Chance Huschke and wife Nikki of Pleasanton, TX, Kelsie Ahrens and husband Jeff of Colorado Springs, CO and Steve Bowers of Amarillo, TX. and 25 great-grandchildren.
