Jaimie S. Lara

Jaimie S. Lara 68 of Bovina passed away October 9, 2019 in Bovina. Celebration of Life Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Bovina, with Pastor Eleazar Lara of Lubbock, officiating. Burial followed in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Jaimie was born in Mexico to Guadalupe Lara and Maria DeRosario Silva. He later married Alicia Rodriguez February 14, 1971. He was a worker for Cargill Meat Solutions. Jaimie loved to dance and joke around. He loved sports including the Houston Texans and his favorite soccer team Tigres UANL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother-Rosendo Lara, 2 sisters-Esther Tovar and Teresa Tovar, and a great-granddaughter-Meilani Camila Sanchez Lara.

Those to carry on his legacy include- his wife Alicia of Bovina, 1 son-James Lara and wife Frania of Bovina, 2 daughters-Rosario Ramirez and husband Valentin of North Carolina and Dina Lara of Bovina, 2 brothers-Eleazar Lara of Bovina and Samuel Tovar of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. 2 sisters-Maria Luisa Lara of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and Rebecca Lara of Dallas, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Jody Tom Lewellen

Jody Tom Lewellen, 60, lifetime resident of Friona passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Memorial Services have been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the 6th St. Church of Christ in Friona with Jeff Procter, minister, officiating. Arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Jody was born October 3, 1959 in Friona to Joe and Isabelle Lynch Lewellen. He later married the love of his life Detricia Kay Miller on June 9, 1989 in Parmer County and created their own family including daughters Chantell Francis and Charee Drachenberg.

Jody had several careers throughout his life, including working for the Soil Conservation Service, owning and operating J.D.’s Tire and Welding, and driving for Bunker Trucking. Jody loved his work and would always be available to help someone with anything when they needed help. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with Dee, his girls and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Joe.

Those to carry on his legacy include his wife of 30 years Detricia of Friona, 2 daughters- Chantell Francis and husband Jared, granddaughters Brenna, Maddie and Laney of Silverton, and Charee Drachenberg and husband Michael, and grandchildren J.W., and Ellie of Smyer, mother Isabelle of Friona, 1 sister-Katie Kuykendall and husband Leland of Wylie, 3 brothers Donnie Lewellen and wife Debbie of Friona, Bobby Lewellen and wife Linda of Katy, Jay Lewellen and friend Angie Graf of Bellville.
