Town Talk

Friona United Methodist Church is hosting its annual All-Saints Carnival from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th. All children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and come participate in all the games, fun, and lots of candy! A cowboy stew supper will follow at 6:00 p.m. Donations will be accepted to help with the youth ski trip during spring break. If you have any questions, please call 250-3045. Friona Junior High supports Cancer Coalition

As part of the Friona ISD Gifted and Talented program, Friona Junior High students recently conducted a fundraiser to support the Parmer County Cancer Coalition. The students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades sold sodas at the National Night Out in Farwell. Accepting the donation on behalf of PCCC is Greg Lewellen. (more...)

City of Friona and Friona Elementary School’s Anti-Bullying Campaign

Students with Solutions was a project for students to address bullying by participating in an anti-bullying activity. Elementary teachers held a classroom discussion to help students generate ideas on steps they could take on their own to stop bullying or encourage inclusion and how they plan to spread their message. The students then created a message through art, writing, drawing or coloring that focused on intentional acts of kindness, acceptance and inclusion or anti-bullying. (more...)
