First Baptist Church of Friona sent a work crew last weekend to Fort Gibson, Oklahoma to help clean up and rebuild in the aftermath of recent tornadoes that hit the area. The group worked with the Samaritan’s Purse organization which was founded by Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham. Crew members were: (l-r) Debra & Stephen Campbell, Kevin Cooper, Charles Cooper, Faith Cooper, Grace Cooper, Tammy Whiteley, Annette & Kirk Frye, and Pam Hamilton, who took the picture.

Briana Padilla and Edvin Tzunux are back home this summer working for the City of Friona as Public Information Specialists. Both are 2018 graduates of Friona High School. Briana is attending Sam Houston State University working on a marketing degree while Edvin is studying government at the University of Texas.

City Council approves update to siren system

The Friona City Council met in regular session on Monday, June 10th at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 619 Main in Friona, Texas. The meeting began with a roll call, an invocation, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Northwest Texas Hospital Association and PMC Team up for scholarships

Parmer Medical Center is pleased to announce that three additional scholarships have been awarded to area high school 2019 seniors. The Northwest Texas Hospital Association selected Amelia Sandoval, Marisol Gomez Marruro, and Vanessa Chavez each as recipients of a $500 scholarship. Their names were submitted to Northwest by PMC and they were selected to receive the funds. (more...)
