The terms “distance learning” and “social distancing” have recently become ubiquitous. However, these terms are not really new. Back in the late 1970s B.C. (before coronavirus), we practiced those same skills. Most of the students I knew tried to stay as far away from any textbook as they possibly could. Now that is true distance learning. Also, one Saturday night a group of ten of us guys decided to go bowling in Clovis. Names have been left out to protect the guilty and I only heard this story second hand from an unnamed whistleblower. Anyway, after we struck out at the lanes we ventured over to the McDonalds just off of the south end of the drag. For reasons unknown, as we got our trays the first two guys sat at different tables and then the next two at different tables and then, you guessed it, ten guys at ten tables. Social distancing at its finest. It’s sweet when an unplanned plan comes together. Fortunately for the other customers, it only took us about a minute to eat our happy meals and hit the road for other adventures. Now, go look up the meaning of ubiquitous and call it a day. Livin’ La Vida Locarona!!!
