Brumley benefit dinner set for Saturday Mar 8

A dinner and dance to benefit the Brumley family will be held Saturday March 8 at Veterinary Industries, 1011 Grand in Friona. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and admission is by donation.

Vet Industries manager Eldon Reeb said they will serve brisket and pulled pork sandwiches and sausage wraps. The Friona Noon Lions will provide their world famous French fries. Chips and dips, homemade desserts, and iced tea will also be available. Reeb said a band made up of local area musicians will provide entertainment.

Caleb Brumley and children Cale and JaDee were seriously injured December 31, 2013, when their pickup was struck by a logging truck on a foggy morning in Arkansas. Caleb remains in an Arkansas hospital with traumatic brain injury but is said to be making progress. The daughter JaDee was released from the hospital and is back in school in Hereford. The son Cale recovered enough to be released from the hospital but continues in rehab in Arkansas. Wife and mother Jennifer Brumley was home in Hereford when the accident happened. She has since been in Arkansas at the side of her husband and children.

If you can’t attend the benefit but would like to donate stop by Vet Industries or mail to the Friona Star, PO Box 789, Friona 79035.
