Come on Ho! Ho! Home for the Holidays!

The Friona Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will kick off a very busy holiday season on Monday, November 16 and running through Thursday, December 17 with Ho! Ho! Home for the Holidays! Shoppers are encouraged to sign-up to win $25-$100 in Friona Bucks. Participating merchants will display canisters for customers to register when they visit local businesses. Each time you shop with a participating merchant you have the opportunity to sign-up and win.

Ho! Ho! Home for the Holidays will bring together an eclectic group of merchants who will offer unique gifts for your Christmas shopping.

Participating merchants are: A-1 Service Center, Bi-Wize Pharmacy, Blackburn Hardware, Malouf’s Fabrics, Carniceria Hernandez, Tasty Cream, Fast Stop Convenience Store, Milk House Market, Interior Expressions, Hunan’s Restaurant, Ivy Cottage, Kendrick Oil-Farm Store, Subway of Friona, Glamour & Décor, Lowe’s Supermarket and Veterinary Industries.

The Christmas season would not be complete without “Christmas in the Park” on Monday, December 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Chamber is seeking vendors during the event. Vendor spaces will be 10’ x 10’ and cost $30. For forms go to www.frionachamber.com. Deadline for forms and fees is 5 p.m. on Monday, November 30. For more information, call the Chamber office at (806) 250-3491.

Santa Claus will be coming to the Friona City Park the help celebrate “Christmas in the Park”.

Parents and grandparents are asked to bring their own camera for photos with Santa. Children must be accompanies by an adult.

“Let’s Light up the Friona City Park again this year,” enthused Chamber VP Chris Alexander.

Organizations, business, churches and citizens are encouraged to pick a tree at the City Park for decorating before the “Christmas in the Park” festivities. Everyone is encouraged to use their imagination and decorate their area any way they wish. Contact the Chamber to secure a tree.

“The choice areas go first, so hurry for the best location,” said Alexander. Trees must be decorated before December 7.

Those attending the event are asked to vote for their favorite tree by bringing 16 oz. jars of peanut butter or any size of Pop Tarts which will benefit Friona Snack Pak 4 Kids. The winners will win the honor of the Traveling Trophy.

The Christmas season is upon us and Friona will be celebrating in a big way. Come out and support your hometown while having a happy holiday.
