Chamber Christmas in the Park plans underway

The Friona Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture is making plans for Christmas in the Park on Monday, December 7.

The Chamber is encouraging local organizations, businesses, churches and citizens to “Light up the Friona City Park!” If you are interested in decorating a tree in the City Park, come by the Chamber office at 621 Main to claim your choice of tree.

Chamber Executive-Vice President Chris Alexander and Chamber Administrative Assistant Betty Lamb remind everyone that the choice areas and trees go first so hurry for the best location.

The trees must be decorated by the evening of December 7, which is the night of the official tree lighting. Santa will arrive during the event for the children to deliver their Christmas lists.

Those attending Christmas in the Park are encouraged to bring 16-ounce jars of peanut butter and Pop Tarts to cast your vote for the best tree, which will win the Traveling Trophy. The peanut butter and Pop Tarts will be donated to the Friona Snack Pak 4 Kids program.

Come out, visit with Santa, show your support for Friona, and help the Snack Pak 4 Kids program.
