The Joy of the Season throughout our town is shown at the Monroe residence. We are taking Christmas week off and will not print a Friona Star next week. We will be back in the office Monday December 28. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. Looking forward to the New Year.

Well here we are again. Time for Christmas and the New Year again. Yes I agree 2015 has passed in a hurry. We have lost too many of our citizens too soon during this year. We will publish our annual In Memoriam list in January. We have much to be thankful for and Dana, Nathan, and I wish you all the very best and merriest Christmas. Thank you for your support.

Superintendent Austin announces retirement
At the Monday school board meeting Superintendent Kenny Austin submitted his resignation after 34 years with the Friona ISD. He told the board he would remain with the district until August 2016 or until a suitable replacement is hired and the transition made.
